2 cups hickory barbecue
sauce
1/3 cup orange juice
1 tablespoon grated orange peel
1/2 to 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
3 pounds pork spareribs or back ribs
MIX barbecue
sauce, juice, peel and pepper.
PLACE ribs, bone sides down, on greased grill over low coals or low gas
heat.
GRILL, uncovered,
30 minutes on each side. Brush with barbecue sauce mixture. Grill an
additional 30 minutes or until ribs are cook through, turning and
brushing with barbecue sauce mixture every 10 minutes.
KEEP A VERY CLOSE EYE ON THEM SO THEY DON'T BURN!
Great Substitute
Substitute 1 broiler ~ fryer chicken, cut up 3 to 3 ~ 1/2 pounds for
ribs. Place chicken, skin sides down, on greased grill over low coals.
Grill, uncovered, 50 to 60 minutes or until cooked through, brushing
with barbecue sauce mixture during last 3 minutes and turning
occasionally. Makes 3 to 4 servings.
Use Your Oven
Place ribs on rack of broiler pan. Brush with barbecue sauce mixture.
Bake at 350°F for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until ribs are cooked
through, turning and brushing with barbecue sauce mixture every 15
minutes. |
