Smoked ham baked
with a apricot rum glaze uses apricot jelly and dark rum to
glaze the ham, this ham recipe is sure to please and satisfy.
5 to 6 pound smoked bone-in ham
Cooking spray
2 teaspoons whole cloves (optional)
3/4 cup apricot jelly
3 tablespoons dark rum or 2 tablespoons rum flavoring
1/2 cup brown sugar
1tablespoon Dijon mustard
parsley for garnish
Trim fat and rind from ham. Score outside of ham in a diamond
pattern. Place ham on a broiler pan coated with cooking spray.
Stud ham with cloves, if desired. Bake for 30 minutes. Combine jelly, rum,
brown sugar and
mustard together. Brush ham with apricot glaze. Bake an additional 30 minutes,
brushing ham with apricot glaze every 10 minutes
or until meat thermometer registers 140°, don't over cook or the ham
will be dry. Place ham on
a platter, garnish with parsley; cover with foil. Let stand 10 minutes before slicing.
