When
the sunset of my life,
is slowly drawing near.
And my walk is just a slower,
then twas the previous year.
The eyes begin to dim somewhat, they've seen the passing of time.
When my hearing dulls and energy wanes, listen friend of mine.
The golden years are approaching, and we yearn for the rocking chair.
We did the best with what we had, with mistakes made here and there.
Hind sight is twenty, a ghost out of the past, If we had done this, or
this or that, wouldn't we have been glad
When we rock away and reminisce, of things that should have been.
The times that tears ran down our cheeks, or we kept the pain within.
Or the times we laughed and shared our joys, with friends that now are
gone.
As time passes in our rocking chair and then keep going on.
But as I look back, though the pages of time, and count blessings by the
score.

Of a God who cares for and loved me and will forever more.
What more can I say but Thank you Lord,
so precious so dear to me.
As I rock away in my rocking chair and wait for eternity.
Yes, the years go by like a running stream.
On its way to the sea, ever moving.
So it is with life, as each day goes by.
With a tick tock, tick tock, ticking away.
